The Woking Festival of Dance exists to encourage and promote dance of all styles for boys and girls ranging from 3 to 21 years of age in the Woking area, and the South East of England.
Woking Festival of Dance is a nominated Festival and sponsor of The All England Dance Competition and is affiliated to the British and International Federation of Festivals, of which her Majesty the Queen is patron.
The Festival movement was established in the 1870s and by the early twentieth century many festivals had been formed across the country. The Federation of Festivals was founded in 1920 and Woking is one of 300 similar festivals worldwide.
Woking's inaugural Festival was held in 1997, and over the years it has grown to be one of the leading festivals in the country.
To manage this exciting event requires a dedicated team of individuals with overwhelming enthusiasm and capacity for hard work. This festival relies so much on their continued support and, as Chairman, I would personally like to thank everyone involved.
