Hello Dancers everywhere,
We are delighted to announce that entries are now open for our 2018 Festival, which is to be held at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre in Woking, beginning Sunday 21st January and closing on Saturday 3rd February. Please go to the “Festivals” page and select “2018”. There you will find details of our adjudicator as well as two further pages (one for schools and one for private entries) containing all of the information about the Festival and all of the entry forms and other forms you will need to submit your dancers’ details. The closing date is 14th October but please don’t wait until the last minute before submitting your entries.
Last year, we introduced a new class to our Festival, Acro. Although this class is not included in the All England syllabus, we received a lot of interest from around the area in this discipline and are hoping to encourage Acro for the future. We also continue to offer, again from outside the All England syllabus, Street dance sections as well and in this way we hope to widen the scope of our Festival and encourage the development of the art of dance in general.
Also, the changes that were introduced, at the insistence of Surrey County Council, to our entry forms continue to apply and continue to be reflected in our forms. We will greatly appreciate your continued co-operation in complying with these new regulations, which are aimed at increasing the effectiveness of child protection measures.
We are pleased to confirm that we will, once again, be running our ever-popular additional competitions, Starlets for dancers aged 7 to 12 and Starcatcher for dancers aged 13 and over (on the qualifying date of 1st September 2017). As in the past, these are competitions that carry cash prizes for the first, second and third places, so please take a look at the details of these on the relevant page.
As always, we are at your disposal to answer any questions you may have and the whole team is looking forward to seeing you again in January.
